With an ABC figure of 99,560 copies audited circulation for the fifth consecutive year,
IC Publications have registered an impressive increase. The new ABC certificates for January to December 2008 show a growth of 19% in comparison to 2007 figures.

Bankers from Kenya, South Africa, Tunisia, Nigeria, Togo, Ghana, Malawi representing North, South, East, West and Central Africa won the African Banker Awards 2008 in Washington D.C on Friday 10th of October. The African Banker of the Year award went to Dr Tony Elumelu, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, the African Bank of the Year award went to Intercontinental Bank Plc, Nigeria and the Lifetime Achievement award was presented to one of the pioneers of African banking, Otunba Dr Michael Balogun the founder of the First City Merchant Bank (FCMB) Nigeria.
The shortlisted companies and individuals for the African Banker Awards 2008 have been announced. The unique ceremony, organised in partnership with BusinessinAfrica Events, will recognize and reward across 17 award categories the individuals, companies and institutions which have excelled in Africa’s banking and financial sector over the last year.
MTN, Arnold Ekpe and Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke take the Top Honours at a glittering evening in London.The inaugural CBC-African Business awards took place on Thursday evening, 3 July 2008 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Just under 500 government, business and media leaders from Africa, Europe, Asia and the USA attended the CBC - African Business Awards. Ephraim Inoni, Prime Minister of Cameroon, Bethuel Mosisili, Prime Minister of Lesotho, Senator Daggash, Nigeria’s Minister of National Planning, Neville Isdell, Chairman of Coca Cola and other prominent diplomats and businessmen presented the Awards to the winners in a festive and memorable African night.

IC Publications magazines have once again registered an increase in their audited circulation for 2006. The new ABC certificates, for January to December 2006 show a cumulative growth of 6.4% over the 2005 figures. The three IC magazines, New African, The Middle East and African Business, continue to be the undisputed leading pan-African and pan-Arab monthlies in English. These increases in circulation follow an impressive 23% growth in 2005.

Adeus Antonio
We would like say goodbye to Antonio de Figueiredo a long standing collaborator and columnist to New African who passed away at the end of November. He wrote his first article for the magazine in 1966 and the last one in our 40th anniversary issue this month. He will be missed by all at IC Publications and by our readers. His columns were always interesting and his insight great. We thank him for his work and send our condolences to his family in this sad moment. Adeus Antonio.

Record print run for IC Publications magazines
October 2006 issues saw our highest print run in a decade with a combined print run of 150,000. The breakdown across all three magazines was 99,383 for New African, 27,079 for The Middle East and 24,215 for African Business. These figures bring our readership close to 1 million readers across Africa, the Middle East and around the world.

ABC figures show 23% increase in circulation for IC Publications
The 2005 ABC circulation figures have just been released. IC Publications are happy to show a year on year 23% increase in circulation across the group, with sales of all three titles growing considerably.
